The head of Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center, Minister Chen Shih-chung, yesterday held a phone conference with the #US secretary of health and human services, Alex Azar, to discuss best practices in #PandemicPrevention. Minister Chen expressed the hope that the US would support Taiwan’s inclusion as an observer in the World Health Assembly, allowing it to fully participate in the meetings, mechanisms and activities of the World Health Organization. As well as praising Taiwan for containing #COVID19 and thanking us for the donation of face masks, Secretary Azar reaffirmed the continued and concrete support from the US for expanding Taiwan’s participation in the WHO and the global health arena and agreed to enhanced health cooperation and exchange going forward.
